Over the weekend I caught a glimpse of The Big Lebowski on regular television. I'd seen parts of it before in its hacked up state (most notably the "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps!" bit), and was again amused at the ridiculous dubbing for the nearly 300 f-bombs that required being covered up. Most of the time it wasn't bad. But when "your fucking rug" became "your valued rug" a few times in a row, the channel required changing.
Now I'd been considering a sister series to my Worst Movie Scenes of All Time things for a little while, and seeing the edited Lebowski sealed it. So today I debut a new line of videos, this one called The TV Version.
The first episode is the TV version of Weird Science, which contains a number of hilarious and head-scratching voice overs to make it safe for regular viewing. For example, the line "they're going to freak out!" is much too naughty and had to be changed to "they're going to flip out!". Enjoy!
